EL MÚSICO ARRIAGA

EL MÚSICO ARRIAGA

Juan Crisóstomo de Arriga is, in spite of his short life, one of the most prominent composers on the history of Spanish music. He was born in the ancient district of Bilbao, in Somera Street, in 1806. His father taught him the foundations of music. At the early age of 11, he composed and represented musical works in music societies in Bilbao. His talent is such that he moved to Paris to continue his studies of music at the age of 15. He died 4 years later, due to tuberculosis. In his honour, they named the well-known theatre as Arriaga Theatre.
