KAROLA CRANE

Bilbao Maritime Museum. It was built in 1957, being the most powerful crane used in large ship manufacturing in Spain.

It's named after a beautiful lady from Bilbao, who used to cross the river everyday by boat to get to her job. It is said that she was so beautiful that the workers stopped the production at the shipyard and climbed up the crane just to look at her as she crossed the river.

* The table and chairs in this room represent the boat berths used in this shipyard until 1984.
